The Acts of the Apostles 2:1-11 gives us an account of Pentecost. It tells us about the descent of the Holy Spirit who filled the hearts, minds, and souls of those in the upper room. Transforming confused and frightened disciples into confident and unafraid disciples who began to boldly proclaim the Gospel message. They became spirit-filled men and women who built the Church and spread the faith from Jerusalem to the farthest corners of the world. Could you imagine being there? Sharing in that experience?
This was more than some far off, historical event. Think about this. Through your baptism, the same Holy Spirit that descended on the disciples descended on you.
